Shrine (Ongoing)
Digital and analog photographs.
Shrine seeks to identify sacred spaces in everyday life. The goal is to document and honor small-scale shrines, devotionals, and other places where memorialization and sanctification form physical scars on the landscape. This project is ongoing as of 2026.
Non Finis Quaerendi (2017)
Silver gelatin print.
This project centers on a period of fieldwork conducted in Uganda in 2017. During this time I conducted archival and oral history interviews on the subject of the Uganda Martyrs, the construction of the Uganda Martyrs Shrine in 1969, and the growth of vernacular religious visual culture in Kampala and its surrounding regions over the past 50 years. The images I made sought to reflect this scholarship by examining moments of vernacular religiosity in everyday life.
Near Midnight (2014)
204-page inkjet book of scanned silver gelatin prints.
Near Midnight (2014) is a 204-page sequential photo monograph whose inspiration point was the moment of anxiety produced by late nights behind the wheel in the American West. It explores alienation, longing, and the profoundly damaging relationship between agriculture and the natural environment in the intermountain West.
